A Willow Star in Memory: A Gentle Gathering for Those Who Are Grieving
Losing someone we love can leave us feeling isolated, especially as winter draws in. This is a warm, unhurried gathering for anyone who is bereaved, whether your loss was recent or many years ago. You're welcome to come as you are, to talk or to stay quiet, and to spend a little time in the company of others who understand.
Where: The Wildflower Cafe, Upper Westwood. BA15 2DH
When: Friday 27th November, 10:00am to 1:00pm
Cost: £25 per person
Booking: Places are limited to 12. Call Cally on 07913 595749 or email cally@countrygate.co.uk to book.
What to expect
11:00 Welcome and refreshments. Arrive, settle in with a hot drink and something to nibble, and meet the hosts.
11:20 Willow star weaving. Guided by Simon, you'll weave a star from fresh willow. No experience or crafting skill is needed, and all materials are provided. The rhythm of working with your hands can be calming, and the star is yours to take home, hang in a window, or place somewhere special in memory of someone you love.
12:15 Share a freshly made lunch together. Vegetarian and vegan options will be available, and we're happy to accommodate other dietary needs if you let us know when booking.
12:40 Reflection and support. A gentle, optional time to share memories, say a name aloud, or simply listen. There's no pressure to speak, and you can take part as much or as little as feels right. Facilitated by Cally.
1:00 Close. We'll finish with a few quiet moments and information about further local bereavement support.
